I’m still swooning over these water droplet leaves! There’s something so fresh and captivating about them – and I love that the photos act as a type of bonus art. It’s basically a two-for-one activity
WHAT YOU NEED:
water droppers (ours are from the dollar store!)
various leaves
HOW TO MAKE:
Go on a nature walk to collect various leaves.
Give a mini-lesson on how to use the water droppers. It takes a little practice to get used to!
Add water droplets to your leaves until your nature-loving heart is content
ACTIVITY EXTENSIONS:
Try using flower petals instead of leaves!
Add some food colouring to the water to create coloured water droplets!
Photograph the water-covered leaves!
Look into the science of water droplets!
CONNECTION STARTERS:
Which leaves are your favourites? Why?
How else are water droppers used?
What other tools have you learned to use recently?
What are some things you can tell yourself when you are learning something new?
THINGS TO CELEBRATE & ENCOURAGE:
finding joy in a nature walk
learning how to use a new tool
showing perseverance while learning a new skill
We hope this simple – yet, fascinating! – activity brings some beauty to a summer evening at your place. Tag us @theartstadium so we can join the viewing party!
Happy connecting!
XOXO,
Lindsay
