I wish I could have bottled up the beautiful conversations had during this Valentine's Day activity. Collaging might be one of my favourite things to do with kindergarteners because they are always fascinated by the different colours and textures. They use the best descriptors and show the greatest excitement. It feels so magical.
WHAT YOU NEED:
large piece of thick paper (we used the back sides of old posters!)
scissors
white glue
paintbrushes
paint sticks
embellishing items (cut up patterned paper, ribbons, muffin cups, etc.)
HOW TO MAKE:
Cut a large heart from a piece of paper.
Add a border to your heart with a paint stick marker. A marker works too! This will make your heart really "pop" :)
Invite artists to glue the various materials onto the heart. They can use a paintbrush to "paint" white glue in different spots and then stick their items on top.
Don't forget to get in on the fun! Listening to their adorable chatter is life-giving ;)
Wishing you all a beautiful Valentine's Day!
Love,
Linds XOXO
