Valentine's Day Butterflies

I hope you've been saving your paper tubes, pals! Because you're going to want to make a whole kaleidoscope of these beauties! (FUN FACT: I had to look that up - a group of butterflies is called a kaleidoscope! SO FUN!)

WHAT YOU NEED:

*** Of course, you can substitute many of these materials for what you have at home. I am just listing what we used :)

• paper tube (these are paper towel size-ish)

• paint

• large pom poms

• foam hearts - large

• foam heart stickers - small

• larger googly eyes

• pipecleaners

• washi tape

• Posca pens

• gems, mini pom poms, other embellishing items

• hot glue & glue gun

HOW TO MAKE:

1. Paint your paper tube whatever colour you like! We went with purple!

2. Decorate your large foam hearts (the wings!) using the embellishments you have. We used a mixture of heart stickers, gems, and little pom poms. We also added some Posca pen details.

3. When your paper tube is dry, add some pizazz with washi tape (or other items!)

4. Hot glue a large pom-pom onto the top of your paper tube.

5. Add googly eyes and antennae next! Also with hot glue :)

6. Secure the heart wings to the backside of your paper tube using hot glue too. You may need to be patient here and hold them in place so they don't slowly slip during the drying process.

Voila! Display these on a shelf, window sill, or even hide one in a cupboard for instant smiles upon opening. Your day will be made with these Valentine's Day cuties!
