Recycled Podium (for small toys!)

I feel like colourful podiums have a real future! Imagine - artists coming together from all over the world to create podiums that reflect various cultures or social justice issues. I think it's brilliant. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST, PEOPLE! :)

WHAT YOU NEED:

• recycled items (boxes, lids, egg cartons, etc.)

• other potential building materials: wooden blocks, popsicle sticks

• embellishing items (gems, pom-poms, craft foam, ribbon, etc.)

• hot glue gun & sticks

HOW TO MAKE:

1. Provide various building materials and allow artists to create a structure with three platforms for toys to stand on.

2. Embellish podiums as desired.

3. Play! :)

ACTIVITY EXTENSIONS:

• Write "athlete" profiles for the small toys that secure first, second, and third place!

• Create trading cards for each "athlete" on the podium!

• Re-enact the final game, race or competition that led the "athletes" to victory!
