I wouldn't joke with you about silly things. EVER. Especially when it comes to art. Or dogs. Or the Olympics.
Oakley - my 4 year old, border collie/lab mix - is an artist. And sometimes, like THIS TIME, we create art together. Our latest creative binge took place when the girls were in Quebec this summer. Oaks and I had all the time in the world to play fetch and snuggle and eat treats and.........dream up collaborative art projects. Here's our first. (That means there's more. You're welcome!)
If you would like to join this very serious fun, keep on reading!
WHAT YOU NEED:
a dog ;)
peanut butter (we are a Kraft always and forever family)
white cardstock
paint (orange, red, yellow)
Ziploc bag (large enough to fit desired flame size)
markers/Posca pens
alphabet stamp set and ink pad
gold and silver paper/foil/cardstock/ribbon (cut into squares)
white glue
scissors
HOW TO MAKE:
Dab a mixture of red, orange and yellow paint onto a piece of white cardstock.
Carefully place the cardstock into the Ziploc bag, trying not to smudge the dabs of paint!
Zip the Ziploc. GUYS, YOU GOTTA ZIP THE ZIPLOC!!!!
Put a few smears of peanut butter onto the Ziploc. I put them nearby any paint spots.
It's painting time for your pup! Hold the zippy on the floor and allow your dog to bring out his inner pup-casso. I promise they will really, really, really love it ;)
Carefully remove the cardstock from the Ziploc and allow the art piece to dry.
In the meantime, begin to paste your silver & gold squares onto a cone-shaped piece of cardboard or cardstock.
We (haha) added the olympic rings and a stamped "Paris 2024" for extra pizazz. We also added some stripey gold strips to be full-time fancy.
Cut out your "flame". We outlined the edges of our flame with Posca paint pens to make it pop a little more.
Glue your flame to the top of your "torch".
YOU DID IT! You very seriously created a piece of Olympic-themed art with your pup! HOORAY! WAY TO GO!
Take a look at Oakley and I in action:
I thrifted a frame for this masterpiece because I wanted to (more) formally display it during the Olympic Games. Plus, when people come over, I get to say "I made that with my dog!" very happily. It's exciting!
Pssst - a sneak peak of upcoming posts - JUST FOR YOU!
Happy Creating!
