FATHER’S DAY TACKLE BOX

Updated: Oct 30

If you’ve got a fisherman in your life (even a recreational one!), this craft is for you! We made these for three special men last Father’s Day and with all the smiles its brought us since, it really is the gift that keeps on giving

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • tackle box (these ones are from Walmart!)

  • acrylic gems (we got ours at Michaels)

  • hot glue gun / cool melt glue gun

  • glue sticks

  • optional: string and letter beads

HOW TO MAKE:

  1. How do I phrase this? Hmmm. You literally just hot glue gems on a tackle box until your heart is content. LITERALLY.

  2. Remove any of the pesky hot glue gun strings.

  3. If you like, you can add a string of letter beads spelling the recipient’s name.

  4. Gift it!

ACTIVITY EXTENSION:

  • Draw some fish to go inside. Maybe they will bring the fisherman good luck!

  • Make a card to go with it!

CONNECTION STARTERS:

  • What do you love most about your Dad/Grandpa/Uncle, etc?

  • What sorts of things do you like to do with them?

  • Describe a time this person made you laugh.

  • How do Dads, Grandpas and Uncles help us during the year?

THINGS TO CELEBRATE & ENCOURAGE:

  • safe use of the glue gun

  • persistence (that’s a lot of gems, y’all!)

  • fine motor skills (flipping over gems and picking them up off the work surface)

  • use of patterns or certain colours

  • identifying shapes

I promise they are EVEN MORE STUNNING when the sunlight strikes <3

Please be sure to tag us on Instagram @theartstadium if you choose to tackle this craft. Get it?! GET IT?!!!!!!

Happy connecting!

XOXO,

Lindsay
