Our summer house is located in the sweetest little town you ever could imagine. If you’re a Gilmore Girls fan, I’ll give you Stars Hollow as a reference point!
One of the best parts is it’s belief in fairies! You can spot little fairy doors around town and we have an annual fairy festival at the start of summer that’s absolutely MAGICAL!
Of course, all of these fairies fluttering around town need a place to stay and so we have our very own fairy garden in the backyard
The garden just got soooooo much cuter, if you ask me!
WHAT YOU NEED:
leaves
flower petals (we used dried ones!)
two sticks
a heart hole punch
string
glue gun (hot or cool melt)
HOW TO MAKE:
Use the heart punch to create hearts from the various leaves and petals.
Attach the hearts to a string using a glue gun.
Tie each end of the string to a stick.
Push the sticks into the soil of your fairy garden!
ACTIVITY EXTENSIONS:
Read a book about a fairy!
Create another garland for a friend’s fairy garden!
CONNECTION STARTERS:
What do you think fairies eat?
Can humans see fairies?
Do you have any favourite books or movies about fairies?
Where should we put this in the fairy garden?
How do you think the fairies will react when they see it?
THINGS TO CELEBRATE & ENCOURAGE:
helping to collect leaves and flower petals
learning to use a new tool (hole punch or glue gun)
safe use of the glue gun
fine motor skills while picking up small hearts
showing pride in their work!
I think these garlands would be darling on a cake too!
We can’t wait to see yours! Remember to tag us @theartstadium so we can hop over to your feed and swoooooooooon <3
Happy connecting!
XOXO,
Lindsay
