DIY Spring Wreath

Have you seen a prettier egg carton upcycle?! (And if you have, PLEASE TELL ME EVERYTHING!)

This wreath is proof that:

1) Phil should never question my stash of recycled items.

2) Colour is powerful.

3) Collaborative art remains my favourite art of all.

If you would like to brighten your front door, side door, office door, classroom door, OR ANY DOOR for Spring - look no further! This egg carton spring wreath is IT <3

WHAT YOU NEED:
  • egg cartons

  • paint

  • hot glue sticks & glue gun

  • embroidery hoop ring (or a ring of cardboard....something to use as a base!)

  • paper, pom-poms, glitter, pastels, or other embellishing items you adore!

  • string

HOW TO MAKE:
  1. Cut your egg cartons so you are working with individual egg cups.

  2. Paint each egg cup and allow it to dry.

  3. Once dry, use glue (we used our hot glue!) to add pom-pom or paper centers. Add other embellishments as you like, such as pastel markings or glitter spots :)

  4. Hot glue all individual cups (or now, "flowers") onto your base. We used an embroidery hoop!

  5. Add paper leaves as you wish!

  6. Hang your wreath by attaching a small ribbon or string to the back side.

  7. Ta-da! You have the most colourful wreath in town :)

Goodness, this is a project I just fall more and more in love with as I write this. Imagine how beautiful a classroom wreath of this type would be, with every student contributing their own "flower". Or imagine setting this up as an invitation to create at your Easter gathering! A family collab would be so special :)

Art really is my favourite sport ;) Happy creating!!!!!

Love,

Linds XOXO
