CANADA DAY NECKLACES

If you’re looking for a simple, low-prep activity to celebrate Canada Day, LOOK NO FURTHER! This Canada Day necklace is simplicity at its finest and you’ll be getting all the Canada Day compliments with this patriotic accessory

WHAT YOU NEED:

• white string

• scissors

• red and white beads

• red and white straws

HOW TO MAKE:

1. Cut a piece of white string based on how long you would like your necklace to be. We like our necklaces to go on and off over the head so that we don’t have to worry about tying and untying knots!

2. Cut red and white straws into small pieces.

3. Add beads and straw pieces to your string to create a celebratory necklace for Canada’s Birthday!

4. Secure the beads onto the necklace with a knot!

ACTIVITY EXTENSION:

• Create necklaces for your friends! They easily fit into envelopes so you can send them in the mail!

• Which beads are your favourite?

• Can you give an example of a pattern we could make with our beads?

• Canada’s flag colours are red and white! Do you know which colours are in the flags of other countries?
